Russia opens new customs station for importing Moldovan wines

The Russian Federal Customs Service and RosPotrebNadzor [Russian federal supervisory agency for consumer goods quality] have agreed to open a new station for importing Moldovan alcohols to Russia, so, it already operates in St. Petersburg. The information has been provided at the 12th working session of the Moldova-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic Cooperation that recently ended in Moscow.

 
According to the Ministry of Economy, the parties agreed to expand the number of stations in order to facilitate the Moldovan wines’ access to the Russian market; confirmed their readiness to promote the increase of Moldovan high-quality alcohol imports, including vodka, liqueurs and aperitifs.
 
In order to achieve cooperation in the international transport field, the parties agreed to organize a common meeting upon searching of new possibilities to assign additional transportation authorizations for Moldovan haulers.
 
The Commission decided to continue negotiations upon conditions of natural gas supplies to Moldova and its transit transportation through the republican territory; as well as debts repayment and possible Russian investment in the Moldovan energy sector development.
 
Moldova has shown an interest in opening own commercial and exhibition center in Moscow – at the territory of the World Trade Center. Recently, for this purpose, Russia promised to provide Moldova with the pavilion #10, where Moldova exhibited its goods in the Soviet time.
 
The next Commission’s session will be held in Kiev in 2012.
